Accelerating the linear timetable.

Accuray and US Radiosurgery needed to renovate an existing Linear Accelerator vault to accommodate a CyberKnife® system, but they didn’t have the luxury of time to accommodate a six- to eight-week schedule. NELCO was asked to perform a seemingly impossible task — reduce the timetable drastically to just twenty-one calendar days. Our team of architects, engineers, and construction managers accepted the challenge with a true teamwork approach, and NELCO has now accomplished this type of project faster than anyone. The scope of work included the design and construction of the vault, providing and installing all radiation protection products, and the coordination of the CyberKnife® system installation. That’s what we call linear acceleration.
